SUMMARYCarbon footprint is the amount of carbon released into the air by humans, electronics, etc. Large cars in a year have tons of Carbon footprint. If you ride on long plane rides your carbon footprint will be greater than someone who sits inside in the dark all day. Some ways to reduce your carbon are as simple to turn off the lights when you're not home.
Carbon footprint is very easy to reduce. You can do the smallest things and reduce your carbon footprint. There are many ways to reduce your own carbon footprint and you can always do something to make your carbon footprint smaller. If you look on the ACT page, it tells you 10 ways you can reduce your own carbon footprint. |
REFLECTIONSIt is amazing that scientists and others think that carbon pollution is really bad and that EPA’s rule of limiting carbon pollution from new power plants should be enforced. If a lot of people know about carbon pollution, there is a chance that more people will ride their bikes, spin clothing from wool, and don’t eat a lot of red meat (cows produce methane which is bad for the environment). EPA said that a lot of people are getting asthma attacks from mercury, lead, and other stuff that makes up carbon pollution, so we use cars that much. Carbon pollution can really hurt people and kill them too. - CF
The article shared many interesting facts. It was very interesting how they changed the amount Carbon in the air to cars on the road. It also shared facts like if people biked instead of driving it would save lots of carbon and reduce the overall carbon footprint. Many people don't know about carbon footprint but if everybody did the world would be a much better place, and global warming would not be an issue. - NJ The article “Global Carbon Emissions Rise to New Record in 2013,” was a very informative and interesting article. To begin with, it was informative because it was explaining what CO2 is. Next, it was interesting because they gave important facts about the past years and what CO2 levels it was. In addition, it was interesting because it told why CO2 levels were rising. Also, according to officials from over 200 nations the estimate for the CO2 level for 2013 was a 2.1% gain from 2012. Finally, it was informative because the article told where it was coming from the most. In the end, the article “Global Carbon Emissions Rise to New Record in 2013,” was a very educational article about the rising of CO2. - LM I think the article gave some good info about carbon footprint. It was really amazing how they used computer models to estimate the carbon footprints. The article showed lots about what carbon footprint was and gave gave plenty info. Many people think that carbon footprint was bad. If more people knew about it so much more disasters like global warming would be prevented. - NM |
POINTS OF VIEWAn environmental scientist would be interested in carbon footprint because they study the environment, and want to see if the carbon level rises. Also, they would be interested in this because they would want to see where the carbon is coming from the most. In addition, an environmental scientist would be interested in carbon footprint because they would look at past years and see how much the carbon level have gone up or gone down since 2000. -LM
Carbon scientists would be interested in carbon footprint because they study carbon and know why carbon pollution is happening. They would also know how much carbon would be in the air and try to help stop it by turning off electricity when its not being used and don’t leave the car on when you leave and come back to drive somewhere else. Recently carbon level has gone up a lot, and most of it is because of us. - NM An electrologist would be very interested in carbon footprint because they study electricity which is part of carbon pollution. Carbon pollution is how much carbon dioxide we breathe out, electricity we use, and others. An electrologist would also want to study this because they would want to see how much carbon pollution is put into the air each year. They could see how much electricity we use each day and add it with how much carbon pollution is already in the air. They can calculate how much carbon we put in the atmosphere and figure out how much we use each day. - CF A house owner would definitely want to know about carbon footprint because regular civilians are the ones who create the carbon.A house owner would want to know if their carbon footprint is too high and bad for the environment or low and they are doing their part. If everyone did their part they could change their ways and that would help the environment. But they can only help if they know what carbon footprint is. - NJ |
